Well its the end of another weekend. once again I haven't had a chance to get in nearly as much work as I would like. Bear bought a wireless router or hub or what ever that thing is called so we can move the second computer into the formal living room and get it out of the office. the way I can work in a room other than the office and Coyote doesn't have to be back here to play runescape. However in the process Bear has made a mess out of the house, including the office and messed something up on the secondary computer and had to redo the whole thing. Now he says he is going to have to redo this computer also. Unfortunately when he went looking for the disks he discovered several of them missing. He has turned the office upside down trying to find them and there gone. He really should have put them up somewhere where they wouldn't be bothered. He said that he did but sitting on a shelf is not putting them somewhere safe.

I don't know if the Internet is messed up now or if Bear did something to this computer or if maybe the site is messed up or whats happening. I have to keep logging in and out and in and out and its very irritating. Its going to take me forever to get my messages in at this rate. I may be sending a message to my bosses later this week asking them to excuse my lack of messages sent. I only have 1600 for the month. The minimum for a month is 2000 and I usually have that by now and I'm working on my bonus 500. Unless something big happens I probably will get my 2000 but not my bonus and that's going to cost me.

I am a little bit irritated at the moment though with my company again. I've asked the more than once to train me on a few other programs in case the one I work on gets slow and I need to supplement it with another one. Now it is very rare that my program is slow. During the afternoon its not unusual to have over 100 messages waiting to be answered and lately even the late evenings and early morning hours have been very busy. Last night things didn't slow down until 1am, but tonight is dead as a doornail and I have seen pop ups on MSN "we need help in Persona" "please log into Mojo were swamped" and of course I can't log into those programs because I don't have training on those programs.

Maybe its my lack of availability that makes them not want to train me on those programs. Its a struggle to get my time in on the one I'm on most of the time.

We didn't get to go on our drive through the mountains today. Someone one the jackpot in Saturdays drawing and Bear doesn't feel a chance at only 15 mil is worth it. But that means there is someone in this country who is either 203 mil or 97 mil richer depending on which option they took. the bastards, ha ha.

You know I wouldn't have to win the jackpot to be happy. I'd be happy to win enough to pay off my house and maybe buy that gold/orange VW bug I want so bad. Bear wants a mini cooper. There's one here in town with a British flag on it.

While Bear worked on the computers I worked outside on the big pile of fake rock and broken pallets and cardboard that was dropped off here after the new restaurant was built. I emptied one large box and cleaned up a broken one. I filled up two pallets of straight flat stones and one of corner pieces. There still a long way to go. They left bags of concrete in the pile also. unfortunately they've been rained on. The ones I come across have already hardened. i can add them to the wall though, they tend to look like rocks when that happens.

Bear will get a month off of school for Christmas/Yule break and i told him that if I can get all of the rock sorted by then then I would like him to start getting it put on as the underpinning. we have enough crap sitting around here needing to be done.

this yellow beauty bloomed last week. i don't know what its called, but its lovely. i didn't know I had this one.
decorating for halloween already. I'm getting as bad as bear pulling the Christmas/Yule decorations in October. More decorations. Bear bought me the skull onthe platter. It talks. it sings "I ain't got no BODY" and "Never trust anyone with a human head on a platter, thats not a mistake you can make twice" and "would you like to stay for dinner, you'll never guess whats being served" It did have candy in it but the dog keeps eating it when no one is home.
A lovely dahlia. these beauties bloom until frost. Be bought Mouse and Coyote new fish tanks for there beta fish to give them a little room and a nicer enviornemnt. demon happened to be in the kitchen after we had changedit out and was really perplexed by the whole thing.
You can almost hear her saying. There has to be a way to get in there and get that thing.

Coyotes friend Sarah with her beautiful red hair chopped offand wearing a pair of vampire teeth.
Coyote really looks like he's hating that doesn't he ;)

Well its been another typical day off for the most part, meaning that I keep sitting down and trying to work and and get interrupted constantly. The weather is getting cold. the days are no longer hot enough for my developing gourds to mature so the babies stay small on the vines. I've picked the larger ones. Except for the loofah gourds, those are still hanging on the vines. I picked two purple bell peppers out of the garden and froze them. I have two more green ones out there. I'm hoping they will turn a different color. I've only harvested 2 cups of bell peppers out of the garden. I'm very disappointed with them.

I did harvest more herbs today. I cut sprigs from my surviving rosemary plant partially to harvest and store it and partially so it would bush out more as well as some more chives which I chopped and froze also.

Coyote called from school with a headache and wanted to come home. I don't think he actually had a headache. I had to take mouse to the chiropractor this afternoon also. Her 3rd or 4th visit for headaches. Hers are real though. Its nice having a mom who works for one.

We plan to play the powerball lottery again Sunday so another drive through the mountains for us it is. The jackpot is up to 203 million with a cash out value of 94.5. I didn't understand why there was a difference until I sat down and read the frequently asked questions. If you take the option where you let them pay you the jackpot over 29 years they are paying you the 94 mil plus intrest. The 94 mil is the amount of money collected. So what you have to determine is can you hire someone to handle and invest the money for you so that it would collect more intrest. Of course that's after you pay taxes on it. I think taxes on a figure that size are 35% now.

A new modem

I've been having trouble with the computer this past week and finally had the modem replaced yesterday. It was pretty old, I guess it was time. I've been working at home off and on since I left my first husband and when you work at home internet problems and getting them repaired are a very big deal so you tend to see a lot of the cable guys. This one remembered me. He also made it a point to tell me that the company that just bought Cox Communications out now has 9meg internet for the same price of the 5meg I'm currently paying for, but its only offered to disgruntled customers who are about to leave. he recommended that i start calling up to the office and complaining and threatening to leave the company to get it.

Well Bear has made really good friends with one of the ladies in the office. we don't have to call up there and complain. He went up there yesterday and sweet talked her and now we have 9 meg internet. haha.

I also ran across this website this week

http://www.workplacelikehome.com/forum/

Its a website dedicated to legitimate work at home opportunities. There are a lot more virtual call centers now than there were when I looked a year ago. When I went searching there was only alpine access and one other. There are also forums. A lot pf people who work at home tend to be hush hush about what they do and how to get that kind of employment. They do this because if everyone knew about it the waiting lists for these positions would be a lot longer and yes most of them do have waiting pools.

I would still keep my currant part time job that I do at home if i did this, but I've found when working online its wise to have more than one source of income. There are times that jobs can both be done at the same time.

Speaking of jobs I need to try to get in at least 30 minutes before I head off to he wildlife preserve and to my outside of the home job, this cable problem has cost me this week. I have 1 and 1/2 weeks to get in 2 weeks worth of work.

its been a tipical weekend so far

I didn't go garage sailing. Bear had a meeting to go to and left early in the morning. I woke up right before he left. Snowflake figured out I was awake and started meowing for food at once so I decided I might as well get up and feed the rest of the cats also. I went back to bed then and slept until 10:30. I can't believe I slept that long.

It was nearly noon before bear got back home. We talked briefly about what we were going to do today. He's off tomorrow but if having some people over to watch football and play poker. I'm kind of mad about that. I have to practically steal time with him these days as it is and he invited a bunch of guys over on his day off. His last day off was Wednesday and I worked my 12 hour shift on that day.

He asked me what I wanted to do today and I pointed out to him that he was having people over when the carpet and chairs in the dinning room looked like hell and the house was a mess so he got to spend 3 hours shampooing the carpet in there and the chairs around the dinning room table while I cleaned. Then we tried to sit down and watch a movie but our neighbor Sheri showed up.

It seems her son got into a lot of trouble this week. He has been kicked off the bus, possibly permanently and expelled from school for two week. He cussed out the bus driver and there are two girls on the bus claiming that he grouped them against there wills. I've heard nothing but complaints out of Coyote and Nick both for weeks about one of those girls. They say she is always trying to get them into trouble because she doesn't like them. Now it seems she and her friend have found a way. No body witnessed anything and I don't think there telling the truth. I don't think Nick would do that. He isn't exactly a perfect kid or anything, but i find the accusations hard to believe. But its bad enough that the case has to go in front of a judge and he may or may not serve time in juvenile detention. Sheri wanted to suggest to us that we tell Coyote to keep his distance from Nick now. She feels that now her son has a bad reputation and that people will assume Coyote is a bad kid because he hangs out with Nick.

Most people reading this blog know me well enough to know i am not the kind of person to give a rats ass about what anyone thinks of me. But bear feels this may be best for both of them for a while anyway and since it is his son and not mine I'm not going to argue about it.

After she left we tried to finish watching the movie but 15 minutes later Bear's boss called and asked him to come in early. It seems the owner daughter had made up some kind of excuse to leave early and go to the county fair. It really pisses Bear off that she can come and go when she pleases, get paid salary for not doing a damn thing, and screw up everyone else's schedules in the process. Bear had to go in 2 hours early to cover the shift she didn't finish which means he is working 12 hours tonight.

The new store stays busy from open to close. That's to be expected with the Super Wal-mart being right there. wait until the major holiday shopping starts . Its really to bad they don't have a profit sharing program there. Rex and Laura area a couple of tight wads though.

I haven't decided if I like this new Beta Blogger yet or not. I like the different spell check, It doesn't capitalize my lower case I's though.

I've created a monster!!!

Coyote came home from school mad because there is a kid on his bus who is always calling him stupid. We know that kids that do this are just insecure about themselves and I've explained this to Coyote several times but he still finds the need to prove himself. He could get better grades in school, but he's bored with the work. There not teaching the kind of things he wants to learn about.

So I said "Well lets find an IQ test on the internet." He scored 143. After that popped onto the screen and he bounced around the house for 30 minutes chanting "I'm a smart kid, I'm a smart kid" and calling everyone he knew to tell them about it. I had to sit him down and explain to him that A high IQ has nothing to do with how successful he will be and it doesn't mean that he is smarter than everyone else either. I don't know if he was really listening or not. I think he was still imagining rubbing that 143 in the face of that kid on the bus. Mouse took the test afterward. I really wasn't expecting a very high score from her, but she blew me away also with a score of 141. They are definitely not related to me. But that makes me wonder how bear fits into this picture, because my IQ is 2 points higher than his, haha.

Another weekend gone

Its the end of yet another weekend and I sit at this desk tired and looking at a 12 hour Monday at work tomorrow and think about everything that I have accomplished. I went garage saling Saturday and found a light weight blazer for myself in red plaid with a black velvet collar. It was 50 cents. For Bear I found two shirts, both pink. 1 long sleeved and 1 short sleeved and a pair of denim shorts. Its hard to find clothing for him because he is as big as he is. Its hard to find clothes for coyote either since boys are so much rougher on there clothes. For mouse I found a beautiful shirt of rose colored satin, button front, long sleeved, with ruffles at the wrists. I also found another pair of pajamas. There another pretty light blue pair with pretty lace at the neck and cuffs. I've been finding a lot of light blue and sky blue stuff at garage sales lately. I wonder why.

Bear had the closing shift the night before and slept until noon since it was 3am when he got off work. I came home and woke him up and we went out for lunch which is not something we do very often. Then we went to wal-mart and picked up some things that we had been needing. Afterward we went back home and started cleaning the house. It always needs to be cleaned. He cleaned the living room and vacuumed and then settled down to watch football. I spent there to of the day cleaning and doing laundry and finally settled down to work at my second job last night around 8pm. I worked for two hours. I spent most of today doing ironing. I worked in the flower beds a little bit. I have a few more female flowers on the gourd vines that will need to be pollunated but I'm not sure if I should bother this late in the year. I don't think they will have time to mature. I only had time to put in an hour at my second job tonight. I'm mad about that. I planned to have twice what I have done this week in and I don't. I really hope this isn't going to be the third straight month with me just making a little above quota again. It seems like there is so much work to do besides that.

I will be taking a hoe to my garden soon and pulling up everything but the pepper plants. Its overrun with grass. I plan to burn fall leaves on top of the spot and I hope the heat and fresh ashes will kill off some of the grass.

Bear is stuck at work closing again tonight. He was only supposed to work until 10 but two of the closers went on break and never came back so he has to be there to cover what they didn't do. Between the differences in our schedule and his school work and work at the new store I don't feel like I am seeing him very much.

A drive in the mountains.

A walking stick that decided to hitch a ride.
This picture was taken at the cliff house inn. Its a nice place to stop for a meal if your passing through the Ozarks. I've never spent the night there though.
Another frog on my window
Water lilies at the wildlife preserve I walk at.

Sunday we went for a drive in the mountains. We drove up to the Missouri border to buy lottery tickets. We didn't make the drive specifically for the tickets. I've been wanting to take a drive through the mountains though. I was shocked to discover on the way up there that Booger Hollow seemed to be closed for business. I didn't see it when we passed but Bear said that it appeared to be closed. The buildings looked abandoned and the parking lot was over run with weeds. I find it hard to believe that the place is closed though. Maybe there lawn mower just broke.

The name Booger Hollow is actually a local way of saying Ghost valley. The word Booger comes from words such as bogie or boogie man. I can remember being told several times growing up to "Watch out now them boogers are gonna getchya!"

We didn't win the lottery or I would have said so first thing, haha. We got a close one though. We missed having the 47 million dollar jackpot by 2 numbers and both of those number were only two off. What's aggravating is we got those two numbers on two of the other tickets we bought.

Bear is having a good time with his new job and its given him the opportunity to continue to take classes at tech. He is only taking two this year because one of them requires 10 hours a week of study time. He's having fun with Laura who is the owners wife and has been running things since her husband developed a heart condition a few years ago.

I was really surprised when I learned that because I always remember her husband (Rex) taking very good care of himself other than using artificial sweeteners in his coffee. He would leave the restaurants around 1pm every day and go straight to the gym.

I was the opening manager at there Russellville store for 5 years. There weren't any benefits and the pay sucked but I loved the job. My help showed up an hour after I got there. We worked well together. Rex and the general manager David (who I adored) showed up an hour before we opened. We were usually finished with everything by then and that left us an hour to do what ever we wanted. The girl I worked with brought a plug in griddle to work a few times a week and we would cook bacon and eggs on the front counter of the store and eat in the dining room, on the clock! Rex and David always joined us and we would sit out there and talk about what ever was going on in the world. I remember that I used to tell my now ex husband I had to watch the news when I got home so I would know what the heck they were talking about. I was always home by 3:30pm and would spend the rest of the afternoon taking care of the flower beds around my little house in town. It would have been nice if it had stayed that way, but it didn't.

David got a divorce and married another woman that no one in his family liked and they moved to Louisiana. Rex was not the easiest person to work for and my now ex husband was pushing me to get a higher paying job with benefits so I went to work at another restaurants as an assistant manager. I hated the job and quit after a year. I also met my currant husband while working there and moved in with him the same day I quit.

Laura is easier to get along with than Rex and it sounds as though Bear has her wrapped around his little finger. He was telling me last night how he had to get a stand for the TV in the office and they needed a step ladder. He had to call Laura to get her Lowe's credit card. Her daughter Tisha also works there and she told Bear, "Your just going to have to do like I do and make an appointment."

Bear just smiled and said "Do you think so." he called her up and 15 minutes later she was in the drive through handing the card through the window. She made the comment "How come I'm the only one doing any giving in this relationship, all you do is take, take, take."

He was also telling me she hasn't been happy with the way anyone is doing the schedule. She didn't like the way Bear did it and told him to let Jamie (the acting regional manager, he doesn't want the job though). She didn't like the way Jamie did it either. She goes to Bear to complain and he says "Don't complain to me you told me to give it to Jamie to do." She says "Don't you guys know by now your not supposed to listen to half the things I tell you!"

I told Bear he needs to really butter her up and make her some of that fudge or maybe that Buckeye recipe I found. Those Buckeyes are good. There an Ohio thing. There basically peanut butter and powdered sugar mixed together and rolled into a ball. That is then rolled in melted chocolate with 1 small dime sized section left exposed so that it looks like a buckeye.

The free rock that was left from building the new restaurants is finally here. It took them two truck loads to get it here. It was all packed into boxes. Unfortunately they couldn't lift it neatly of of a fork like and put it down, they had to dump it. So now we have to clean up all of the broken pallets and cardboard mixed in with it. And just when my nails were getting nice and long too. Maybe a paid of gloves will keep them from getting broken.

Chinese bottle gourd on the vine. I have a second one that I noticed this morning. I thought this was a dipper gourd, but I discovered today that this gourd was growing on a vine that's also producing Chinese bottle gourds like the one pictured above so I am kind of at a loss as to what it is. There are 3 of these, all good sized and another one possibly on the way. I pollenated the flower by hand yesterday These rock roses are a surprise. They appeared in July. Our first summer here I found this pot and another of the same size at a garage sale and put rock roses in them. They do reseed themselves. Last year I had a pink one like what I planted, but this year I got a white one with a few faint pink petals in it.
Oh my goodness, will you look at that. I have a little black demon in my flower pot. Demon is one of my favorite little babies. She has earned her name. I had planned on calling her ebony. The babies stayed in Mouse's room when they were born and she suddenly started calling the cat demon. When I asked her why she said it was because she was a mean little turd! She's right, she is a mean little turd! But she is a snuggly little baby too.

Well it doesn't look like I will be getting my promotion. I didn't figure it was likely. I haven't been with the company for that long. I have another 6 weeks before I have enough experience to bother looking for a better company to work for. Most of them want to you to have at least 3 months experience.

The kitten that I hit with my car is doing a lot better this week. It used to spend most of its time standing or sitting and watching the other cats play or laying around asleep under the canna lilies, but the last couple of days its started becoming playful. It ran across the yard this morning with the others when I brought the food out and when I brought it in last night it played with my feet under the covers.

I went garage sailing this week and last week. I found Mouse a pair of stretch bluejeans last weekend and myself a few more blouses, including a yellow one that matches a green broomstick skirt I bought in the spring. Today I found Mouse two more blouses, a white one and a cute golden lace and leopard print lace one with long sleeves that she loves. I figured I am probably going to have to start buying her stuff at garage sales again. The neighbors daughter probably wears a smaller size than mouse does now. I think the girl may have a problem. She is 12 years old and looks like a girl with an eating disorder. Mouse tells me that she works out at least 1 hour a day. She doesn't appear to have an ounce of fat on her anywhere. That's just not natural for a 12 year old girl to be that thin and that obsessed with exercising.

I had a caller at work make me madder than anyone has in a really long time. I notice instantly that the caller has a thick new York accent. The first thing he does is ask me where I am from. This is not uncommon because the company I work for has 6 customer service centers spread across the country. So I tell him I'm from Arkansas. The first thing he says is "Well I know I won't be getting the help I need here!"

I wait in silence while he explains his problem and I "could" help him but he has pissed me off now. When he is finished I say "I'm sorry sir, but I'm to redneck and backwards to answer that question!" and I hang up the phone.

Bear surprised me the other day. He informed me that we have caught up on all of our bills and were actually two months ahead on the mortgage and he plans to keep it that way. He also plans to start putting down extra principle on the payments son. I put a spell on him a few months ago that was supposed to make him better with the finances. I'd forgotten about it. I
guess it worked, haha.

It feels like its cooling off earlier than usual this year. The days are in the 80s now. It doesn't seem to me like that is supposed to happen until September. I'm not complaining though.

The only thing left in my garden (vegetable garden) that's alive are the bell peppers and the basil, neither of which is producing like they should be. Fortunately I didn't throw out the basil I had left from last year. It will probably last me another year. My gourds are going alright. I have at least 2 luffah gourds now and possibly three if that one up by the roof was fertilized. At least 2 Chinese bottle gourds (birdhouse) and at least 3 dipper gourds and one of those is really huge with a really long handle. It not the amount that I had hoped for but its something. It will be enough to replace the luffah's I've been using for the last 2 years in the bathrooms and give me something more to decorate with. None of the ornamental gourds I planted at the top of the hill survived. I'll have to plant them near the house next year if I want a decent crop. But rather than buy the seeds I am going to pick up what I want at the grocery store and left them dry out. Who am I kidding I'll buy the seeds too because I'll be hoping for a different kind than what I bought at the store.
