Azcentral.com

Azcentral.com, a top-ranked newspaper-affiliated Website serving the Phoenix DMA, is working with Alliance Reservation Systems of Phoenix. to improve the site’s hotel-booking interface. The new booking engine will allow consumers to filter hotel searches by price class, brand, amenities, and proximity to landmarks or street addresses, and will plot the search results on Google maps. It also will allow the Web staff to incorporate links to specific properties within stories that may mention them.

“Our travel site is one of the most comprehensive sources of information about Arizona, and we want our hotel booking engine to be as robust as the content,” said Mike Coleman, vice president of digital media at Phoenix Newspapers, Inc., the parent company of azcentral.com. “We’ve had good results with Alliance’s current booking engine but we anticipate a better user experience with the new one and more reservations as a result.”

The reservation system run by Alliance encompasses more than 45,000 properties worldwide, but azcentral.com’s primary focus is hotels in Arizona. Plans call for preset city searches in azcentral.com’s city guides so that only hotels within the guide’s area of coverage will be listed. Searching for hotels from the Phoenix guide would automatically limit the search to Phoenix, searches from the Sedona guide would limit the search to Sedona, and so on.

The site offers more than 20 city guides, four regional guides, guides to popular attractions such as Oak Creek Canyon, the Grand Canyon and Monument Valley, and what-to-see and where-to-go guides for major attractions like Native American culture and resorts/spas. Hiking and outdoor activity has its own index that features an extensive collection of information about hiking trails throughout Arizona. Definitely check out this site when planning Arizona Vacations .
