The Ups and Downs of Self Employment
Its a wonderful thing!!! It does have its problems. Income can be up and down. You don't have the luxury of employer provided health insurance. Your responsible for paying your own taxes. But there is so much freedom that goes along with it.
My husband hit the road on Monday. He first went to mountain home and then traveled to Pocahontas Arkansas where he stayed with my aunt and uncle for the night instead of a hotel room. He came home the next day with money for a new order of supplies and money for the week in his pocket. He hasn't been feeling well since Sunday evening so this morning he slept an hour later than usual and then took off to the driving range for a little while. Monday he is going to a church golf tournament or something like that and then hitting the road on Tuesday instead of Monday. He couldn't do any of the with a typical punch a clock job.
I'm not feeling so great either. I didn't sleep in because the animals won't let me. But I can sit outside and drink coffee or walk around my garden in the morning for as long as I feel like it before coming in to work. I can take a break at any point in time and put laundry away or make the bed. I home school one of my step kids which is an option that would not be available to me otherwise.
