Luxury in the Desert

I've never had much liking for the desert. I've seen people on TV talking about its rugged beauty, but to me it seems dry and rocky and unappealing. After all I have grown uo in the rain forest like climate of the Ozark mountains with lush forests and deep valleys 40+ inches of rain a year.

Then I acme across this Phoenix real estate with these Luxury Homes on it. Its beautiful. It looks hot and arid and really the sort of thing I would rather look at from the window of my air conditioned home, but its still beautiful. I can definitly see why living in such a place would appeal to a person.

Recycled office Furniture

You know when it comes to office furniture it never occurred to me to buy recycled office furniture. Most of the time when I discard old furniture its usually not really usable anymore. Most of my desks have been made of particle board. The one I have now is glass and metal and will probably last me for a very long while. But chairs are another thing. Chairs hydrolics break down and the surfaces tear and the stuffing starts poking out. I guess it could all be repaired and recycled though.

Cubicle Depot is located in Dallas, Texas and has a warehouse full of quality used office furniture and used office cubicles. They offer complete cubicle deliver and set up as well as the removal of old office cubicles and furniture that will be refurbished. I even found nice wooden office desks and filing cabinets on there listing page.

Poo Powered Prison

Our friends are WorldChanging link to very interesting posts from the Timbuktu Chronicles. Emeka Okafor wrote about an excellent example of how to use biogas: The Kigali Institute of Science and Technology's Center for Innovations and Technology Transfer (Kigali is the capital of Rwanda) designed and built a 150 cubic meters fixed dome digester in Cyangugu prison. The digester is fed human waste generated by 1500 prisoners and it produces 50% of the energy needed to cook for the 6000 to 10,000 inmates (the number vary depending on the source), cutting in half the £25,000 ($44,000) yearly firewood bill - a lot of money in Rwanda. I'm not sure why the digester doesn't get the waste from all prisoners, but the simple answer probably is that it's simply too small for that, which would mean that with expansion the firewood bill could be eliminated.

The Kigali Institute of Science and Technology has also built a smaller digester (25 cubic meters) for the Lycée de Kigali, solving its sewerage and hygiene problem. "The methane gas produced is used to cook for 400 students and for operating bunsen burners in the school science laboratories..."

Five of the country's largest prisons - two at Gitarama, and one each at Butare, Kigali and Cyangugu - now boast biogas plants, either in operation or under construction, and their effect has been dramatic. [...]

Biogas doesn't sound the most pleasant of energy sources - either in sight or smell. But for anyone who's not seen one in operation, the result can be surprisingly attractive. All the guts of the system are tucked safely out of sight underground. The gas produced burns with a clean, blue smokeless flame - in contrast to the wood which it's replacing. And the residue makes excellent, odour-free compost: a thick treacle of dark grey muck which enriches the prison's gardens, growing maize, mangos, bananas and tomatoes, and in some prisons, fuelwood trees, too.

Slow Home

"Suburban sprawl is like fast food; cheap and easy but also unsatisfying and boring." says the intro Slow Home, which says "takes its name from the slow food movement which arose as a reaction to the processed food industry. In the same ways that slow food helps people learn how to become more familiar and involved with the food they eat, Slow Home provides design focused information to empower individuals to step beyond the too fast world of cookie cutter housing. " The ten steps to better housing (listed below the fold) are an excellent guide to sustainable living. The Folio includes a lovely collection of houses that meet founder John Brown's criteria, all with good pictures and documentation. The Annie House in Austin, Texas by Bercy Chen Studio is a good example.

austinrear.jpg

From Brown's description of the the house:

The house is located in South Austin on a small infill lot. It was built for two families and therefore is split into two living areas. The house consists of two pavilions connected by a glass hallway.

The house is a certified city of Austin green building project and scored 3 stars out of the highest possible 5 star rating. Sustainable principles of design are incorporated throughout.

austin%20interior.jpg

The house is constructed of a modular steel frame. The frame is infilled with prefab thermasteel panels to minimize construction on site waste. The structural frame is exposed, showing the construction process and articulating the house’s facades. The repetitive modular method as well as the prefabrication allows for greater efficiency during construction. The 2nd floor in one of the pavilions is a viereendeel truss which acts like a bridge and minimizes the number of vertical structural supports in the 1st floor.

Ten Steps:

1. GO INDEPENDENT

Avoid homes by big developers and large production builders. They are designed for profit not people. Work with independent designers and building contractors instead.

2. GO LOCAL

Avoid home finishing products from big box retailers. The standardized solutions they provide cannot fit the unique conditions of your home. Use local retailers, craftspeople, and manufacturers to get a locally appropriate response and support your community.

3. GO GREEN

Stop the conversion of nature into sprawl. Don’t buy in a new suburb. The environmental cost can no longer be justified. Re-invest in existing communities and use sustainable materials and technologies to reduce your environmental footprint.

4. GO NEAR

Reduce your commute. Driving is a waste of time and the new roads and services required to support low density development is a big contributor to climate change. Live close to where you work and play.

5. GO SMALL

Avoid the real estate game of bigger is always better. A properly designed smaller home can feel larger AND work better than a poorly designed big one. Spend your money on quality instead of quantity.

6. GO OPEN

Stop living in houses filled with little rooms. They are dark, inefficient, and don’t fit the complexity of our daily lives. Live in a flexible and adaptive open plan living space with great light and a connection to outdoors.

7. GO SIMPLE

Don’t buy a home that has space you won’t use and things you don’t need. Good design can reduce the clutter and confusion in your life. Create a home that fits the way you really want to live.

8. GO MODERN

Avoid fake materials and the re-creation of false historical styles. They are like advertising images and have little real depth. Create a home in which character comes from the quality of space, natural light and the careful use of good, sustainable materials.

9. GO HEALTHY

Avoid living in a public health concern. Houses built with cheap materials off gas noxious chemicals. Suburbs promote obesity because driving is the only option. Use natural, healthy home materials and building techniques. Live where you can walk to shop, school and work.

10. GO FOR IT

Stop procrastinating. The most important, and difficult, step in the slow home process is the first one that you take. Get informed and then get involved with your home. Every change, no matter how sma

Life as it should be

Coca Cola Zero has a little website dedicated all to Coca Cola Zero but they also have fun things to so on the website.

They have a little "ruin a mans day" area where they have a man sitting at a desk writing on a legal pad and you can control the hydrolics in his chair, his lamp, his phone and intercom and piss him off until he walks out of the office. That was kind of cool. But then you go over to the "unlock the secret button" and you have these tools to unlock the safe with. You have a blow torch and a saw and you can try to work the combination of you want to. I ended up using the saw the cut the hinges off of the safe and using a wrecking ball to open the door. The secret is frozen in a block of ice inside and you have to melt the ice but not get it so hot that you burn the paper. At the end, I still couldn't understand what was on the paper. But it was cool figuring out how to get all of that out of there.

Essentially Coke zero is Zero Calorie Coke. I haven't tried it so I can't tell you what it tastes like.

An easy dry erase board

f you have five minutes and some dinged CD cases—and we'd be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn't—you can make a yourself a mini dry-erase board. Stick 'em on the back of the car to entertain fidgety kiddies, on the fridge to remind your roommate not to eat your food, or by the phone to note down messages. Or you could Voltronize several CD cases to make a bigger board or even line them on an entire wall. The possibilities, they are endless

A long wait

Well its been a week and a half and I am still waiting on my Bear's cleaner to get here. It seems the Chemist left his office for a break mid week last week leaving the delivery into the Oh so competent hands of his secretary (that I think is blowing him because she should have been fired by now)and she managed to botch it up yet again. But we have been assured that the delivery will be here tomorrow. He has lost a week and a half waiting on this thing. He's going stir crazy and driving me nuts too.

But we did get all of that river rock spread out. I'll take pictures of it tomorrow.

EcoVillages

Maybe we have finally found a positive result of urban sprawl. When population flight left the urban cores of many mid-sized U.S. cities empty, good housing stock, central location, and access to jobs and transportation remained in these old urban communities. Thankfully, a trend is in place to not only bring people back to these areas, but to do it with urban sustainability in mind - urban ecovillages. Now, we have covered ecovillage concepts before (read more here and here), but these ecovillages are usually in more rural or even suburban landscapes. Urban ecovillages are able to focus these same eco-principals into city neighborhoods to bring like-minded urbanists together. Here in Ohio, urban ecovillages in Cleveland and Cincinnati, cities notoriously affected by sprawl, are leading the way.

Hey, I have an Idea

Why don't we build homes that can't be destroyed by floods and fires and earthquakes and hurricanes and tornadoes!!!

Headaches

For the past several days I seem to feel constantly on the verge of a headache. I don't really know what the problem is. They always seem to start with pain on the left side of my neck so I'm sure it has something to do with that. I swear when it goes into a full blown migraine I an even feel them hurting in my jaw and teeth.

Headache treatment is something I've grown to know a lot about. I practice pressure points (which rarely help) and I now have to take as many as six aspirin or Tylenol just to take the edge off of it now. It looks as though I may have health insurance after I file my taxes this year though thanks to a program governor Huckabee put into works for self employed individuals.

Graduating Seniors

You know, its a little odd for me to be talking about graduation when school just started this week. I don't know any seniors who are going to graduate at the moment. In a few years I will though. I actually only know of one kid who will be graduating in the next few years and were all kind of scratching our heads wondering if he is going to make it.

But if he does he deserves lots of gifts from everyone just f9or making it, lol. IvyCoveredHalls.com offers personalized highschool or college graduation gifts. These include that personalized pen and ink pictures, desk clocks, color print desk boxes (can use those for a number of things), glass photo frames, paperweights, mirrors, and the list goes on.

The end of another looooong day

Ok, well todays work day lasted 13 hours. Now that was not 13 hours sitting in front of the computer. I did take short breaks to move the sprinkler and let the dogs in and out and get lunch and a cup of coffee. Some point during that long period of time I managed to cut up some Okra my mother brought over.

I did not get to work on the house today. I'm out of nails so i can;t do anymore bags and most of the back filling is finished for the moment. There is still a small section I have to do but its not an emergency. I can't move forward with the next row until the wood beams for the kitchen floor and the door frames for the final 3 doors in this dome are in place anyway.

Wouldn't you know I'm waiting on bear for my nails, my floor beams, and my door forms.

I do have to give him credit. He is doing the gravel work out front. He has gone through half of the 2 1/2 tons of gravel be bought on Monday (for a bargain price of 24 dollars). And he is doing the gravel work when its over 100 degrees outside and their isn't a lot of shade in front of the house. Light and heat are reflected off of the white siding on our mobile home making it that much worse. Its looking really good though. I think we might actually get it finished this summer. Well, everything but the covered deck. I don't think were going to get that done yet agin this year.

Visiting Canada

A friend of mine has a girlfriend in Canada. he drove up there to see her a month or so ago. He really liked it up there a lot and has thought about relocating up there. Beautiful country, no bugs, and no heat. I don't know if he would like the winters that well though.

I have a friend that lives in Canada also. I have been there, once, a long time ago. I was to young to remember I guess. I vaguely remember a vacation to a place that was really pretty and seeing things with my mother and aunts while my dad went fishing with my uncles, but I don't remember where we were at.

I would like to visit Canada again someday. I'm not sure what time of year I would want to go. Summer would be nice but it would be cool to see just how a "real"winter looks.

I would love to see Niagra. But then theres Quebec and Calgary. If I am going to visit Canada I don't think I would want to drive. I don't like the idea of spending that much time in a car. That seems like a waste of a couple of good vacation days. I need to find some good flights to Canada I guess. DialAFlight offers cheap flights to all parts of Canada. There worth checking out for your Holidays to Canada.

Hoodia

Hoodia is a genus of 13 species in the flowering plant family Apocynaceae, under the subfamily Asclepiadoideae. They are stem succulents, described as "cactiform" because of their remarkable similarity to the unrelated cactus family. They can reach up to 1m high and have large flowers, often with flesh color and strong smell.

Native Bushmen in Africa have used Hoodia for thousands of years to ward off hunger on long hunting trips. Now science has discovered that the Hoodia plant contains a unique molecule that takes your hunger away! Hoodia is usually purchased in Pill form for dieting but its now available in a hoodia patch.

Beautiful PLaces

Its been a long time since I got to go on vacation anywhere. I often think that I would like to go somewhere quiet. Somewhere with a beautiful view and quiet surroundings. A jacuzzi on a deck under the stars naturally. I live in a beautiful place already. I'm surrounded by tall tall trees and mountains and lots of room to move around.

But I would like to go to bed with the sound of the ocean crashing underneath my bedroom window. That would be a wonderful change. Maybe walk around the garden of a beautiful little cottage house.

You can find all that and more at the Inn at School House Creek. Its your ideal place for Mendocino lodging.

Drug Rehab

Finding a drug rehab program and Drug Rehab treatment center for you or a loved can be overwhelming and I am sure does not help an already stressful situation for all of those involved. There are so many programs available. Unfortunately drug rehabilitation programs are not one program fits all. The drug addiction, severity of the addiction, and the individual involved will influence the compatibility of an addict to a program. The goal of drug rehabilitation is long term permanent withdrawal and promotion of a healthy substance abuse and dependency life. Getting the best drug rehabilitation program for your individual needs is the number one step in ensuring a successful recovery.

There are many things that you should take into consideration when you are making this decision. When you are picking a drug rehabilitation center, you need to be fully aware of what kind of center it is and what services it offers. You should visit the site linked to above for more information.

Bathroom Lighting

I haven't put a lot of thought into the lighting in the bathrooms of our new house. One of them will have sun tunnel things in it to provide daytime lighting (It will be on a southern wall). Now for the master bath I have put a lot of thought into the bathtub and windows and a shower and a nice little dressing area, but not in the bathroom lighting. I haven't thought about it at all.

I am really partial to any type of shade that has little air bubbles or crackles in the glass. In pretty much all of the house I have had since I moved out of my parents house I've had what I call movie star lights. You know the clear glass bulbs on the mirrored metal strips.

Uttermost Bathroom Lighting 4 or more Bulbs UM22811 33-1/2'' Width''This sort of thing would look good in an earth dome bathroom I think. I don't know how well it would light everything, but I like it. The Lighting Showplace Website has a lot of other very interesting light fixtures for your bathroom as well as a lot of other light fixtures as well. Its definitly worth checking out.

Those two boys are going to be scarred for life now.

A very strange dream

In this dream I was with some people that I didn't know very well but we were living in this house. Only it wasn't this house as it looks. It had a strange kind of bar area accessed by several wooden French doors.

There was a night of the living dead scenario going on outside. You know zombies and people being turned into Zombies.

I told the people I was living with to go around and lock all of the doors securely. I went and locked the doors I was supposed to lock and a short time later these people and zombies alike started coming in to be served like they were at a bar. I found myself thinking "Thats what I get for trusting someone else to do something, I should have just done it myself"

The dream went on and on and the people I was with kept saying we should try and escape. I told them no, we had food and supplies there and this would eventually end and we just needed to stay where we were. It was there fault we were having to deal with Zombies and people in the bar area and they should just wait for them to leave.

At nightfall I finally told everyone in the bar area it was time to close up. That they had to leave and not to worry we would be open tomorrow (knowing full well we wouldn't be open tomorrow and they would probably all be nasty Zombies tomorrow). They left and I locked the doors tightly and we started making plans on how to ration the food and what to eat while we waited for everything the pass.

Liposuction

Liposuction is one of the most routine cosmetic surgeries performed today. Pretty much all plastic surgeons do it and do it a lot. Liposuction is basically a plastic surgery consisting of vacuuming fat deposits from under the skin. Good candidates for liposuction cover a wide range of the population. After all we do have an obesity problem here in America which means most of us have large amounts of fat on our bodies we would like to remove.

The most common areas treated with liposuction include the neck, chin, abdomen, “love handles”, hips, thighs and calves. I can't imagine what you would need sucked out of your calves. I've never seen anyone wit fat calves before. i would love to have my waist and my chin done. I have a hereditary double chin and its always bothered me. I would love to have it all sucked out and have one of those nice chins where you can see the bones of your jaw and everything.

The way Beverly Hills Liposculpture works (as they like to call it)fluid is injected into the fat. This allows for easier "sculpting" of the tissues, and also introduces anesthetic and a medicine to constrict blood vessels to minimize bleeding and pain after surgery. From what I read this anesthetic is very long lasting and lasts for some time after the surgery. Several very small incisions are made in areas of natural skin folds to minimize scarring, and small hollow tubes are inserted under the skin to suction out fat.

You might want to consider Los Angeles cosmetic surgery if your going to have this done as they have a nice state of the art facility and a lot of experience doing this with minimal scarring. I've been told there is bruising after the surgery but I haven't read about that anywhere.

Incorperation

My husband and I own an incorporated business. It took a very very long time for our lawyer to get the paperwork together. At least a good 6 months. but he was doing it for us as a favor so I don't know for sure if it could have gone faster or not. After it was finished we had this cool little stamp thingy and stock options and everytime we start any type of home based business we file it under that incorporation.

It was a good feeling to hold that certificate in my hand and then to get my own tax ID number. It came from our accountant, not our lawyer, but we had to be incorporated to get that tax ID number and that meant we could make orders from all of those stores that only sold to businesses. It was the neatest thing. The new does eventually wear off of the whole thing though.

If you don't have a lawyer friend who can do a favor you you you might want to consider Incparadise.com for your incorporation needs. They specialize in only incorporations and have several locations in several different states. They do Arizona incorporations as well as incorporations in Texas and Florida, but there based in Las Vegas.

Cruise goes Bio

In a move that should help lighten the large amount of sulfur pollutants emitted from their cruise ships, Royal Caribbean Cruises has signed up to purchase a boatload (couldn't resist) of biodiesel from Imperium Renewables. For 2007, Royal Caribbean will buy a minimum of 15 million gallons, and for the four years after a minimum of 18 million gallons. Imperium believes this purchase to be "the single-largest long-term biodiesel sales contract to an end user in the US." Here's to making the high seas a little cleaner - and may the other cruise companies follow suit or be forced to walk the plank

Echo Malibu Teen Drug Rehab

Its difficult enough struggling with an adult who is suffering from addiction, but can you imagine dealing with a teenager. Raising a teenager is difficult enough but dealing with addiction can put that much more pressure on a parent.

Fortunately they there are Teen Rehab treatment centers available. At ECHO MALIBU they provide teenagers and their families with state of the art, comprehensive, holistic adolescent treatment programs. Each teen drug treatment program is designed by licensed clinical professionals to identify and treat the underlying causes of addiction and is an individualized treatment plan.

Buying School Supplies

Hey everyone guess what. I have 3 more plastic surgery post to do and thats it, No more after that. At least not for a week anyway. That is unless they start popping up on another paid to blog page.

I'm going to check out some garage sales here in a minute since its pointless to go on Thursdays and Fridays now since all of the stay at home moms have started going to work.

We picked up Mouses school clothes yesterday. We got her some really cute jeans at the Good Will and a few pairs of shorts and a few T shirts and cute Skorts at Wal-mart. Including the school supplies we bought for her 3 weeks ago we spent 300 dollars on her for school this year. I'm glad I only have to buy stuff for her and not her brother too.

Earlier in the summer I started doing garage saling for her school clothes and got most of it taken care of, including sweaters and long sleeved stuff. I couldn't buy pants and shorts though because I didn't know what size she was. It turns out she is sort of an in between size. That made shopping at the good will a lot more difficult. She is a Juniors size 4 in the waist but she isn't tall enough to wear a juniors 4 in the legs yet. Fortunately the child's size 16 does fit her, barely.

Coyote is in desperate need of new clothes. All of his stuff looks just awful. He can wear an adults small now though so hopefully garage saling will be easier for him now. He doesn't do much more than sit in front of the computer these days though. He is going to really be hating it when on Monday when I start his lessons again.

AIM Promote

My husband is a traveling salesman. Most people who read this probably already know that. He is one of those people who was born with the gift of gab. He sells it door to door to businesses and those sales are what I want to talk about.

If you have ever owned your own business or lived on commission based sales then you know how important marketing automation can be to a business or a sales person.

AIMpromote Lead Management CRM Software is a program that does just that for you. An average of 60% of all sales are wasted due to neglect. That number jumps to 80% when you look at the number of qualified leads that would have bought your product but didn't because of people nobody bothered to pursue the lead. Their innovative Lead Attention Meter it shows when a lead needs attention, and how close the sale is to being lost due to a lack of response. Administrative tasks can bog your sales staff down and keep them from closing that next big sale. But this program will show them just when and where there skills are currently needed. Feel free to sign up for your 14 day free trial.

Los Angeles Plastic Surgery

People undergo cosmetic surgery for many reasons. Here are 10 of them.

1. Smooth facial wrinkles

2. Remove unwanted facial hair

3. Increase overall breast size and shape

4. Suction fat from the stomach, butt, hips, and thighs, neck, and calves

5. Remove a bump from the nose or change its shape all together

6. Fix a crooked nose and correct breathing problems (such as snoring)

7. Remove bags from around the eye area

8. Remove extra skin from the stomach area

9. Plump up lips

10. Improve the appearance of sun-damaged skin

Individuals may undergo plastic surgery for a number of reasons. Some may elect to have facelift, eyelid surgery, or forehead lift procedures to reduce the look of wrinkles and sagging skin and create a more youthful appearance. Others may want to have a tummy tuck, liposuction, or breast augmentation to improve their body contour and increase their self-confidence.

The decision to undergo cosmetic surgery is a very personal one personal. Its definitly not something that people want to talk about. After all, this type of surgery is completely voluntary. Unlike other necessary surgeries, we're often driven to consider cosmetic surgery from a combination of social and emotional factors. Our body images in part are shaped by society. Were going to have to endure voluntary pain and recovery time and discomfort. But most people consider these factors to be worth the results.

Lloyd M. Krieger, MD, is an experienced plastic surgeon . He is also the founder of Rodeo Drive Plastic Surgery. He makes every effort to make sure your cosmetic surgery experience is as safe and comfortable as possible. He earned an excellent surgical reputation because of his technical excellence, warmth professional manner and uncompromising patient satisfaction.

He offers procedures named such things as the Los Angeles Tummy Tuck, Los Angeles Breast Reduction, and Beverly Hills Breast Augmentation in which he utilizes his own special techniques.

British Gas Launches Greenest Energy Tariff

BRITISH GAS LAUNCHES GREENEST ENERGY TARIFF

9 August 2007: British Gas has announced it is launching two new green energy tariffs, Zero Carbon, which will be the greenest tariff available on the domestic market and Future Energy. British Gas has launched the tariffs, in response to the increasing demand for green energy products.

Householders signing up to the Zero Carbon tariff will:
• reduce their household energy carbon emissions to zero through Kyoto compliant offset schemes which will meet the new Defra requirements
• help fund a direct increase in investment in renewable energy generated in the UK
• contribute to the new British Gas green fund which will:
o invest in developing new renewable technologies such as wave power
o oversee a programme to help schools in the UK reduce their CO2 emissions

Gearóid Lane, Managing Director British Gas New Energy said,”Our new tariff responds to consumer demand for truly green energy solutions. It is essential that customers have confidence in green energy tariffs and that their credibility is not damaged by tariffs that claim to be green but in reality do not deliver any incremental environmental benefits. Green tariffs are moving from niche to mainstream products and we’re leading the industry by offering a tariff that will do more for the environment than any other product currently available.”

Under the government’s Renewables Obligation (RO), http://www.britishgas.co.uk/ in the UK are already required to produce an increasing percentage of their electricity through methods such as wind farms which, unlike traditional power plants, produce zero carbon emissions. For 2007/2008 this figure is set at 7.9%.

In a recent report, the National Consumer Council (NCC) raised concerns that some energy suppliers are packaging electricity which is produced under the RO scheme as “green”, yet it delivers no additional environmental benefits. The NCC called on energy suppliers to take steps beyond their legal requirements and offer green energy tariffs that provide genuine additional environmental benefits, in particular CO2 emissions reduction.

British Gas worked with Global Action Plan and The Climate Group’s “We’re in this Together” campaign to develop Zero Carbon which goes further than any other green tariff in meeting these requirements offering consumers the only zero carbon option on the market.

The tariff carries a premium of £84 per year, reflecting the higher cost of producing energy through lower carbon emission schemes.

Virginia Graham, Chair of Global Action Plan, said, “The British Gas Zero Carbon tariff delivers on all three of the essential requirements of a green tariff which are: additionality, transparency and verifiability. As such it is a very welcome new offering in the market. Consumers signing up to the tariff can be confident that they are getting 12 per cent more renewable energy than they would otherwise have got. The carbon emissions from their electricity and gas will also be offset with emissions reductions from projects accredited by the United Nations.”

Zero Carbon is one of the first initiatives launched through the ‘We’re in this Together’ campaign, which was launched in April 07 as an alliance of some of the UK’s biggest brands who are all working to help their customers reduce their impact on the climate.

Dr Steve Howard, CEO of The Climate Group and founder of ‘We’re in this Together’ said, “We’re committed to offering people ways to make a real impact on climate change through Together.com. We’ve worked with British Gas to ensure that Zero Carbon is a genuine step forward in delivering more environmental benefits than any other tariff currently available.”

British Gas’s second green energy tariff, Future Energy, offers an alternative green electricity tariff at a premium of just £20 per year. Hurricane in Texas

As if Taxas hasn't had enough rain this summer. We were doing good on rain here for a while. Every day for two months it rained. Now there has been nothing for 3 weeks but this incredible heat wave. The only good thing about this storm coming in from the gulf is that we might get a little rain off of it. Its been known to happen sometimes. If we don't get some rain soon there won't be any leaves left to urn this fall.

Nose Rings

The very first time I saw a nose ring was on the news. They were doing a report on a belly dancing school in America. At the time it was one of the first of its kind in the states. I was pretty young at the time, still in grade school.

In the article they said that the nose ring was intended to take beauty away from the face. I guess this was so that the viewers eyes would concentrate more on the movements of the dancers body.

Nose rings are really popular now though. There everywhere you look. People don't even look twice when see a nose ring anymore (unless its one of those that looks like the ring you would see in a bull or pigs nose, those are ridiculous). Apparently there are a lot of different kinds of jewelry you can up in your nose. They have nose studs, nose screws, nose bones, fishtails, and twists. They have lots of other types of jewelry on that freshtrends.com website also. They even had this cool cartilage piercing jewelry that seemed to grip the ear that i thought was beautiful. That might be worth trying. It seems to me that something like that would feel like you have a big booger in your nose all of the time. But I have seen some people that looked very sexy with simple nose rings.

Record Breaking Temperatures?

I don't know, it doesn't feel any hotter to me than it usually does. Its hot, theres no doubt about that. Believe me, I'm put in it swinging a pick ax and lifting buckets every day, I know exactly how hot it is. But it doesn't seem any hotter to me than any other summer. it did get hotter later in the year this time. Its usually hot like this is July and August.

We do need some rain though.

Internet Advertising blog

If you do business online then this internet marketing blog might be of interest to you. Advertising on the internet can be a confusing thing. I've certainly been learning a lot about it these past 3 months and I'm sure I will continue to learn more and more. At least I hope that I will. This very informative blog offers such things as TIPS, NEWS, and KNOWLEDGE on SEO, LEAD MANAGEMENT, and ANALYTICS.

Its definitly worth the time to scan through if your attempting to market anything on the internet. I'm going to save it into favorites and scan through it when I have time.

Dirt and Heat and Tin Cans and Bottles

When I work on the back of the property i find myself covered with a fine clay dust. I suck it up when I breath and when I come back to the house I blow mud out of my nose. It reminds me of the days I was digging by hand.

This afternoon I will finish the 6th complete row. The wall is now 3 feet tall and two feet from being ground level. Tonight I will get the last 5 bags in place and start to tamping. Then I'm going to spend the rest of the week doing some backfilling. It will give me more places to stand, lol.

I'm backfilling with something that I don't think many people would think of using. A few years back we went through a period where we didn't have any trash service at all. We burned what ever we could burn and everything that couldn't be burned ended up in a pile hidden in the woods at the bottom of the hill. Its mostly things l;ke tin cans and bottle and stuff like that. If you don't have service with the local trash company then they make you pay 25 dollars to recycle the stuff at there facility and we were scraping by at the time.

What I'm doing is using those glass bottles and tin cans to backfill with. This way I will have that much more dirt to go in the bags and its a way to help me get rod of that pile of crap down there. Once you get about 6 inches of dirt over it its surprisingly solid.

Fixed Assets

A Fixed asset is a term used for a piece of property which cannot easily be converted into cash. This can be compared with current assets such as cash or bank accounts, which are described as liquid assets. In most cases, only tangible assets are referred to as fixed.

Fixed assets normally include items such as land and buildings, motor vehicles, furniture, office equipment, computers, fixtures and fittings, and plant and machinery. These often receive favorable tax treatment (depreciation allowance) over short-term assets because they depreciate over time.

If you have a large amount of fixed assets then you may want to consider a program that will help you with your fixed asset accounting, such as FAS.

Stuffed animals

Both of my step kids are really to big for stuffed animals. One is 10 and the other is 13. But I do have two great nephews and two great nieces that I could buy stuffed animals for.

At www.thejunglestore.com you will find any and every kind of plush animals that you can possible imagine. I even saw eagle stuffed animals. They even have a section with ice age stuffed animals. I thought the saber tooth tiger was really cute.

Diamonds with a personal touch

Sure there are lots of Richmond jewelry stores, but not all of them offer the same quality of service and product as Adolf Jewelers. As more and more people move to buying important, expensive jewelry online, Adolf stands by their tradition of offering top quality fine jewelry and engagement rings in Richmond, VA…without selling through their website.

I've searched a lot of stores, and I've yet to find better service and products than those offered by Adolf Jewelers. They really do love what they do and will make you feel right at home as soon as you walk through the door. They're who I do my shopping with, and I think you'll want to see why their one of the best Richmond jewelry stores.

Parenting Teens

My step son Coyote turned 13 in February. So far other than he seems to be as tireless smart ass I haven't had many behavior problems. Its been the same old same old. He doesn't really have any money to spend at this point in time but the way he is learning to make money through his online games it might not be much longer.

I'm not really concerned about him spending the money on drugs but the writer of this particular blog I read today has had people ask her about there kids spending their spending money on drugs. She suggests getting the kids prepaid credit cards so that each transaction is recorded on the car and since pretty much everyplace there is takes credit cards. That way if the teenager starts to take out cash withdrawals they will no to start questioning where the cash is going. I think I will be saving this blog "Earn Smart-Spend Smart" into my favorites for future reference. We all know better than to turn down advise when it comes to parenting teens.

A nice steady week

I did ten bags yesterday and today and the day before. I haven't been in a big hurry this week. Plus when I try to crochet it feels like my hands are going to sleep so I thought I might want to back off for a bit. After this row I have to do some backfilling. its just as well because Bear has to put in the wooden pieces to connected the kitchen floor to and were putting in two more door frames. Work this week has been "steady" compared to last weeks 18 hours a day pulling my hair out "OMG there trying to bury me!!!!" week. I haven't done as much for the texting company this week either. I probably would be if they hadn't pissed me off last week. I'm not the only one they pissed off though. Apparently they decided to pick on some of there best workers that particular day. We all found out about it on the boards and went on strike for a day last week. It was kind of fun to sit back and watch them pop there little messages on the boards in caps screaming "OMG there are 300 messages in the Queu will you guys please log in and help!!!!"

We were busy sipping our morning coffee, lol. Isn't that amazing how everything can stay so nicely managed and then the three of us decide not to log in and all hell breaks loose !

Storage beds

You know, with the trend leaning toward smaller homes (which is a good thing) storage space becomes more of an issue. I have lots of room in my own home but as we consider the spaces available in our new Earthbag home (moving in before its finished) storage becomes an issue. We consider replacing the kids beds with storage beds. My kids might be a teen and a preteen but they still have a lot of crap that there not willing to part with. I guess we all do. I have a book case over there full of books that I haven't picked up in years, but I won't part with them.

I don't think there will be room for a queen storage bed or anything like that but I think we can squeeze singles into there bedrooms. Under bed storage is not exactly feng shui or anything like that but it would serve the purpose. its not like kids have that many aches and pains to they. Thats an old person curse.

FurniturefromHome.com has a very nice oak storage bed with tons of under storage space. I actually don't think I have ever seen a storage bed with that much space. And I have had storage beds before. Well, that was a storage water bed.

Portable Scanner

Now this is a very interesting idea. I can remember certain times when it would have been nice to have some sort of scanning device with me to scan something I was signing or wanted to keep with me but couldn't. I can imagine some traveling salesmen or businessmen might have a need for something like that also.

The ScanShell 2000N is a light weight A4 color portable document scanner. It is conveniently carried along with a laptop and requires a minimal footprint on the desktop. This portable scanner enables users to fax, email and organize all of business documents, with the "touch of a button". it requires no external power adapter. Its USB 2.0 port connection feature allows for a fast and easy one-cable hook up to your notebook or desktop PC and the unique "launch" button starts your imaging application instantly. Best of all it only weighs 14 ounces so its not like you have an extra pound to carry around with you.

The software it uses is DocShell. Its an easy to use utility that scan documents and export the scanned image into existing, pre-installed application on the user's pc.

Jewlery

I love jewelry. I can't really afford to have lots of fancy jewelry. So I have to make do with cheap costume jewelry when I can find it.

If I could afford nice expensive jewelry then I would definitly buy it. I like jewelry thats different. You know not just the same old thing that you see every day. like this really different green quartz ring. Green Quartz and Diamond Ring 1/10ctw I really love this nice pale green color. I can just imagine it sparkling on my finger now.

Mediscan

I used to volunteer at the local hospital. I worked in outpatient surgery and was surprised to find that they did a lot of insurance processing at there little desk in the hallway. I would sometimes help them put the paperwork together and it was overwhelming how many details they had to remember. Insurance companies would throw a fit and not pay if one tiny thing was off.

medic scan produces medical card scanners that help make all of this processing a little bit easier on medical office workers. What the system does is when the medical card is inserted in scans the image and stores it in a specified file in your computer, but it also imports it to email and ftp and any other place you store these files. These relatively simple computer processes improve customer service, reduce paper work, increases productivity, and reduce human errors.

Mediscan supports a variety of image formats. It offers an easy to use setup. It also produces clear and sharp images and an export engine to 3rd party applications, FTP and E-mail. No external power supply is needed. It will scan any photo including paper photos, Id cards, checks, and even rigid plastic credit cards right up into your computer.

Plastic Surgery

Back during the winter I joined a gym. Sitting on your but in front of a computer can make you fat fast.

It used to be soo easy for me to stay thin, but then you get older and your body slows down and its a lot harder to keep the pounds off than it used to be. I worked out very very hard. By the time I quit I had worked myself up to 3 hours a day and that was 3 hours of heavy working out. During the 6 months I spent doing this I lost a lousy 6 pounds. My body changed shape but I still wore clothing that was the exact same size. Everyone said I looked like I had gotten thinner, but I didn’t. My body just changed shape as my muscles became toned.

I think after we reach a certain age loosing weight and being thin is simply not something thats going to be reasonable for us anymore. If I am on my feet and on the go and out in the heat a lot (that seems to help for some reason) then I start to slim down, but I am getting older and I can’t be on my feet like that all of the time anymore. My feet hurt to bad.

If I had the money I would sooo get liposuction. Just get all of that fat that refuses to leave my stomach and thighs sucked right out. what I would really like to have is a Beverly Hills Tummy Tuck. I have always had problem with my belly. Even when I was starved down to almost nothing size 3 I still had a little bit of a belly, despite my best efforts.

There is a plastic surgery clinic in Beverly Hills that claims they don’t charge anymore than any other clinic despite the fact that there offices are on rodeo drive. They have a few different ways of performing liposuction. One is called Los Angeles Liposuction in which fluid is injected into the fat. This allows for easier sculpting of the tissues, and also introduces anesthetic and a medicine to constrict blood vessels to minimize bleeding. They also offer the Beverly Hills Breast Augmentation. I want one of those done too. With the breast lift of course.

If I had the money to have it done and the money and time to travel to California in the first place then that sounds as though it would be the place to go.

Psychic Power

www.psychicpower.com is a website belonging to Dr Peter Filis who is Sydney's most popular psychic. Psychic Power offers face to face readings and unlike a lot of psychics he is not pagan or Wiccan or anything like that.

His website offers a guarantee that's impressive in itself. He says if your not impressed by his reading he will give you your money back. I don't know of any other psychics who make that promise.

He will tell you exactly what he sees, the good, the bad and the in-between. He will tell you what is really going on and unlike a lot of other psychics he will not beat around the bush and waste time so he can rack up more minutes. He also does tarot readings.

I know I said . . .

Ok so I said I wasn't going to right about plastic surgery anymore. The problem is I'm not getting any other reviews off of that site. 75% of my reviews next week are about plastic surgery. If it wasn't for them I would be making any money off of that particular site. I don't have the option of not taking them at the moment.

Rodeo Drive Tummy Tuck

If you live in Los Angeles or even near there and your looking for Los Angeles Plastic surgery then you should consider los angeles plastic surgery. They charge the same prices as other plastic surgery clinic. There motto is "We may be located on Rodeo Drive but our Doctors don't shop there."

"Abdominoplasty,” or a tummy tuck, is a surgical procedure designed to flatten the abdomen by removing excess skin and fat, tightening the muscles of the abdominal wall. Tummy tucks can dramatically reduce the appearance of a protruding abdomen.

If your looking for a good place to get a Los Angeles tummy tuck then you might want to consider Rodeo Drive Plastic Surgery clinic. They have techniques in which the scar (if their is one afterward) is easier to hide and the remove the fat in such away that allows for a more sculptured technique. . They have several other procedures in which they use special techniques that are all there own. The Rodeo Drive Belly Button and the Rodeo Drive Mommy Makeover and beverly hills liposuction.

After a tummy tuck patients may experience temporary pain, bruising, swelling, soreness, or numbness in the abdominal skin for several weeks or several months. However, I think that the temporary problems associated with the procedure are more than worth the results.

Despite the fact that there offices are located on Rodeo drive doesn't mean that there more expensive. They say there procedures cost the same as at any other plastic surgery clinic. There motto is "Just because were located on Rodeo drive doesn't mean that our doctors shop there.

I would love to have a tummy tuck as well as some other procedures done. I guess its pretty common to want to correct the things that gravity has taken there told on. But its not going to happen unless I win the lottery so I might as well learn to live with it. Thats what most people have to do.

NewHomeFurniture.com

I desperately desperately need to buy furniture. The kids have destroyed so much of what I have. I guess maybe its a good thing I didn't get the really expensive stuff with all of the carvings like I wanted. I'll just wait until there grown up.

I'm not going to get one with big cushions on it again. That was just an invitation pull them off and throw them in the floor and to have pillow fights with. I keep having to sew up the seams. I want one of the cool kind with all of the cushions already on them and the built in recliner things. Those are nice. I want something that looks like leather but isn't really leather and is really easy to clean. Real leather has a smell to it that I really don't like.

I would like to have a new entertainment center in there too. All I have is thing piece of crap partical board thing I got from wal-mart 7 years ago!

I would really like to buy sectional for the family room. I really like sectionals. I have one in the formal living room. A big cushy red one. I think I may have one in the new family room also. Something brown and fake leather.

Furniturefromhome.com has a really nice selection of sectionals. All sectional type furniture/ There very very nice. they have a lot of other nice furniture too.

Carbon Monoxide treated meat

Score one for the good guys: after sustaining heavy criticism and pressure from a coalition of public interest groups and members of Congress, the retail titan Safeway conceded the public health risk posed by CO-treated meat and removed it from its shelves. As we've noted in the past (and as have many of you in the comments over the last few years), the FDA and Department of Agriculture have allowed large meat packers to inject CO in their meat products since 2004 to give them the appearance of looking fresh (even if they weren't).

Though the CO injections themselves likely don't present a poison risk, this practice poses a public health and, more importantly, consumer fraud hazard by misleading shoppers into thinking the damaged, old meat they are purchasing is still fresh and good to eat. A poll conducted by the Consumer Federation of America revealed that a majority of consumers equated meat color with its freshness. In the same poll, over 75% of consumers deemed the use of CO in meat deceptive and more than two-thirds of them said the meat should be labeled as such.

Gassing the meat allows it to hold its color for more than a year while untreated packaged meat usually starts losing its redness after only about 10 - 12 days on the shelf. The FDA's acquiescence of this practice has been a major boost to the meat industry: it has likely saved retailers as much as $1 billion annually in lost sales resulting from consumer aversion to dated, browning meat. Given the provisions of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act — which states that a "food shall be deemed to be adulterated — if damage or inferiority has been concealed in any manner; or if any substance has been added thereto or mixed or packed therewith so as to — make it appear better or of greater value than it is" — it seems strange that it would allow this practice to persist.

As with most dubious government agency practices, food safety watchdogs suspect meat industry lobbying is to blame for this lack of action. In addition to filing a request through the Freedom of Information Act to see the agency records, public interest advocates are working with members of Congress, including Rep. Rosa DeLauro (D-Conn.), to introduce a bill banning CO-treatment of meat. Should this fail, two other congressmen are introducing a bill that would at least force retailers to accurately label CO-gassed meat.

The tide may already be turning, however: several large retailers have already acknowledged the risks posed by CO-treated meat and a handful of others have gone so far as to refuse carrying it. Let's hope keeping up the pressure will "convince" others to follow in their steps.

Scubish.com

I'd like to try scuba diving one of these days. If I ever have the money for that sort of thing. I won't have a swimming pool but I will have a pretty deep lake. I know that they require a swimming pool before they will teach someone. I wonder if my backyard lake would be sufficient.

scubish.com Scuba Diving is a scuba diving website. On the website you can find such things as information to plan your scuba diving trip. A friendly scuba diving discussion. Tools that will help you share your dive experiences with other divers. Scuba diving news, entertainment, links, and much more. The site is 100% free.

Gee, Imagine that!!!!

Well now it seems the government finally realizes that the large amounts of formaldehyde being off gassed by mobile homes soon after construction is dangerous!!!! Lets see if they actually do anything about the materials being used.

Finally!!!

Well I finally seem to be done with posts for the day. Thank goddess. I feel like I've been working on "something" all day long. Posts or blogs or my text sites or bags or something. And here I though last Saterday that this was going to be a slow week for me. This is turning out to be my best week ever.

I finished another row of bags yesterday. This is the 5th complete row. I tamped it this morning and lay that barbed wire this evening under falling darkness. There will be another row of bags started tomorrow. Bear is going to have to make two more door forms when he gets back into town next week. I still have work to do though. I have to update all of the blogs I have with real posts tonight. Joy joy.

Online Poker

My husband is an Online Poker playing fanatic. I once read a blog called the golf widow. I think I need to consider myself a poker widow. when he isn’t working and its to hot or to nasty to be outside he spends most of his time laying on the coach with that lap top of his playing online poker. Texas Hold’em is his game.

I’ve looked briefly at the poker sites he plays on but this is one that I’ve never heard of before. Its called Full Tilt Global Poker. According to there sites they welcome players from the USA and all over the globe. A lot of poker sites have been restricting USA player this year. Maybe it has something to do with those poker bots.

But whats really cool about Full Tilt Global is a sign up bonus thats up to 600 dollars. All you have to do to get it is visit there download page for instructions on getting the Full Tilt Poker Bonus Code

Facelifts

I can remember a few months ago I was watching that reality show with that guy from the band Kiss. Something family jewels. I can't remember what the guys name was. But he and his wife decided to have a face lift. They had the whole thing one national telivision, the surgery and everything. There recovery. All of it. he even released a picture of himself to the news of his face after surgery, all swollen and with a drainage tube in it. I couldn't believe he did that. His wife didn't do that.

A facelift improves the most visible signs of aging in the lower face and neck by tightening the loose underlying muscles and re-draping the skin. Anything that will cause the skin to lose elasticity will hasten the process, including sun exposure, weight fluctuations and heredity. A facelift can address these problems by firming and tightening the skin of the face and neck all in one step.

If your concerned about scarring you will be relieved to know that incisions are made around the ears and within the hair on the scalp so that scars will be hidden from view. Modern facelift techniques as done at "Rodeo Drive Plastic Surgery" provide excellent results by tightening both the skin and the deeper tissues of the face and neck. This approach allows flexibility so the surgeon can tailor the procedure to each patient and avoid the “stretched” look that was common some years ago. if you have a double chin or more padding around your face then you would like you might want to also consider there Los Angeles Liposuction.

If your living in Los Angeles you should consider rodeo Drive Plastic Surgery for your Los Angeles plastic surgery needs. Just because there located on Rodeo Drive does not mean that you have to pay Rodeo Drive prices.

From 50 to 18 again.

A friend of mine had a tummy tuck done last year. That was the most amazing thing I have ever seen.

She described the surgery before she showed me the pictures. She has had 2 girls and had C sections so she had the C section scar to deal with as well as all of that extra skin that was hanging there. She says it seemed to her that the older she got the more that skin seemed to stretch and hang. She had a breast lift and breast augmentation, and liiposuction done at the same time. She described how they pulled all of the extra skin on her stomach tight and cut it off, including detaching it from around her belly button. Then she described how they cut a new hole for her belly button and popped it through the remaining skin and stretched it down tight. This of course was after they sucked some fat out. When they removed her nipples and pulled the stretched out skin tight on them and cut them off. Then they sewed the remaining skin back together around implants and sewed her nipples back on. It sounds painful doesn't it? she says she was never in any real pain thanks to the good drugs they had her on.

Then she showed me the before and after pictures and OMG!!!! Before the surgery she had an old lady looking body and after the surgery she looked like she had an 18 year olds body again. It was pretty incredible what they did. After seeing the after results I have to say it was probably worth the money she paid for it and what ever recovery she had to go through to get it done.

All Inclusive Resort Packages

Superclubs offers all inclusive trips to Luxury resorts around all over the world. The phrase "all inclusive resorts" means pretty much that everything is included in the price of the trip. In most cases this includes all meals, snacks, drinks ( even the alcoholic ones) activities and lessons for doing the activities.

Some vacation packages offered by other companies say they are all inclusive but the vacationer finds upon arriving that there having to pay for things that they didn't think to ask about. Thats not the case with Superclubs packages

Super Clubs all inclusive resort packages include such things as CD players in every room, all snacks in a variety of dining options, piano bars that stay open until you say when, all land & water sports - including instruction, unlimited premium brand cocktails. They offer vacation packages in such places as the Bahamas, Brazil, Coasta De Sauipe, Hedonism and much much more.

Super-Inclusive is about better. It's about offering the best beaches and the most comfortable accommodations. It's being greeted with a friendly smile when you arrive and warm wishes when you leave. It's world-class chefs and world-recognized golf and tennis pros. It's about promises made and promises kept.

The Ascender

Despite todays horrible gas prices and the expensive cost of living I find myself fantasizing about luxurious things, like SUV's. I have to admit I loved that Eddie Bower SUV that Bear has. It was soo luxurious inside. Even if it did cost 50 dollars to fill up the gas tank.

The Ascender is an Isuzu SUV. It's loaded with amenities that make it an ideal choice for commuting and everyday duties. It can handle family, friends, bulk purchases or road trips, no problem. I bet it can even handle the rough and ragged 1000 foot trail to our building site. Even in its most basic form, ascender 5-Passenger is a capable SUV with the power and wonderfully luxurious ride.

It gets 16 to 22 miles per gallon depending of course on how and where your driving it and from what I understand thats pretty good for a car that size. It comes with a standard 4.2 liter inline 6 cylinder engine, anti lock breaks, traction control, and stability control. It also offers automatic 4 wheel drive should you find yourself in a situation where its needed and with the climate changing as it is thats a good possibility and 5800 lb towing capacity.

Hedonism

We have some friends who took a trip to hedonism a few years ago. They brought back pictures and everything and Bear has wanted to go ever since . I'm a little bit nervous about the idea of going because its an "adult" resort. And when I say adult it doesn't mean that they don't allow kids! But is one of the finest adult resorts.

Nudity is not something thats taboo throughout the resort. My friend came back talking about getting naked in the Jacuzzi and how a section of it was glass and you could see the naked people in the jacuzzi from the restaurant downstairs.

But thats what Hedonism is. Sleep in. Stay up late. Give up counting calories. Have a drink before noon. Give up mineral water. Dine in shorts. Talk to strangers. Don't make your bed. Go skinny dipping. Don't call your mother. Let your hair down. Don't pay for anything. Don't leave a tip. Be your beautiful self in spectacular Negril or Runaway Bay, Jamaica. Hedonism is a sandbox for your inner child, nourishment for the mind, body, spirit and soul. Pleasure comes in many forms.

Its also an all inclusive resort so the cost of your trip pays for anything and everything you might need while your there.

SuperClubs

Superclubs provides all inclusive trips to Luxury resorts around the world. The phrase all inclusive means pretty much that everything is included in the price of the trip. Some vacation packages offered by other companies say they are all inclusive but people find once there on the trip they are encountering expenses that they didn't expect. Thats not the case with Superclubs

You don't need to worry about carrying extra cash for food or drinks or anything else. Super Clubs all inclusive packages include such things as CD players in every room, all snacks in a variety of dining options, piano bars that stay open until you say when, all land & water sports - including instruction, unlimited premium brand cocktails. They offer vacation packages in such places as the Bahamas, Brazil, Coasta De Sauipe, Hedonism and much much more.

Super-Inclusive isn't just about more. It's about better. It's about offering the finest beaches and the most comfortable accommodations. It's being greeted with a friendly smile when you arrive and warm wishes when you leave. It's world-class chefs and world-recognized golf and tennis pros. It's about promises made and promises kept.

Really Cool Computer Desks

These have got to be the coolest computer desks I have ever seen, ever. These things are seriously seriously awesome!!!!!

These are some really space saving unique ideas. I can remember when we lived in Bear's tiny little apartment and how difficult it was fitting the computer into the cramped space, desk and all. The tall one would be excellent for a truly small space. I like the one with the two computers on it. Especially since were thinking we may need another one for work purposes as my work online continues to expand and grow into new areas. I don't want to get rid of my little black metal and glass corner desk, but that one set up for two desktops is really cool.

This website really has a lot of really cool office furniture. Not like any I have seen anywhere else. They also offer computer carts, computer carts, and drafting tables. You know, when it comes time to shop for new desk furniture and I know that day will come, I might want to look into there stuff.

Free Homeschool Curriculum

Most of the people that read this blog on a regular basis know that I home school my stepson. It just works better that way. He is outgoing and outspoken and extremely intelligent and the teachers in a public school are just not capable of handling the combination of these three thing. Sometimes I have a hard time handling these three things, lol.

K12FreeHomeschool.org offers 100% K12 Free Homeschool curriculum. Your homeshcooler can attend all the way from Kindergarten through Grade 12 and never have to pay tuition…ever. The way they are able to offer this is in exchange for receiving the services of K12FreeHomeschool.org you agree to respond to questions, surveys and offers from their corporate sponsors. Considering the cost of homer schooling curriculum (unless your an unschooler) I think its well worth the time to answer a few questions and do a few free surveys.

They offer video lessons and instruction, printable study guides, hands-on projects, web adventures, and a lot more!

Philadelphia, PA –- This week’s release of K12FreeHomeschool.org represents the much anticipated opening of the first tuition-free online academy core curriculum for K-12 grade homeschoolers. The new, first-of-it’s-kind online model for Christian Homeschoolers is supported primarily by outside corporate, non-profit and educational funding instead of the traditional “paid tuition” model.

“Nothing like this has ever been done before,” says Mimi Rothschild, a veteran homeschooling parent and CEO of Learning By Grace, Inc., managers of K12FreeHomeschool.org. “Our mission is to deliver world-class educations to our students and give every family, no matter what their financial situation may be, a great opportunity at providing their children with a quality education.”

The launch comes at a time when many parents are tired of the failing public school system, but don’t have the money to send their children to a traditional private schools which, because of soaring tuition costs, are reserved for the wealthy.

“I understand that parents don’t want their children growing up in sub-standard and sometimes dangerous public schools. I also understand how much work homeschooling takes, I should know because I’m a homeschooling mom. K12 Free Home School takes the pressure of homeschooling off parents and is also incredibly affordable,” says Rothschild.

K12FreeHomeschool.org is nationally accredited and offers tuition-free courses, which include materials at little or no extra cost, and optional elective courses, which are offered at a 50 to 75 percent grant reduction.

K12FreeHomeschool.org also enables parents to customize their child’s education to best fit their child’s learning styles. This approach to education is a breath of fresh air when comparing it to public schools’ approach of one-size fits all curriculums. K12 students excel in the relaxed environment of their homeschool and have the ability to go at their own pace.

“It’s the 21st century and it’s time we starting using 21st century technology to benefit our children’s education. Each child learns in their own unique way, therefore each child should receive an education that caters to their needs. With the technology we have at our fingertips, there is no excuse for not giving each child in America an individualized world-class education,” says Rothschild.

K12FreeHomeschool.org is managed by Learning By Grace, Inc., the foremost leader in online education and single-handedly changing the way Americans educate their children. Learning By Grace also manages other learning resources including The MorningStar Academy, The Grace Academy, and The Jubilee Academy.

K12FreeHomeschool.org is the first online nationally accredited K-12 private school to offer tuition-free courses. It is a ground-breaking online program that equips students with a desire to learn and allows parents to provide their children with an affordable first-class Christian education.

Tummy Tuck

You know, sometimes despite our best efforts out stomach just won't get any flatter. hundred of sit ups a day are just not getting rid of that bulge or tightening things up any at all. We end up having a bulge of fat there no matter what we do or sometime after having a few babies that skin is jut really loose and needs some tightening up.

If you've got a little too much flab or excess skin in your abdomen that won't diminish with diet or exercise, you may want to consider an abdominoplasty, popularly referred to as a "tummy tuck." This procedure flattens your abdomen by removing extra fat and skin, and tightening muscles in your abdominal wall. Women who have muscles and skin stretched by multiple pregnancies may find the procedure useful to tighten those muscles and reduce that skin. A tummy tuck is also an alternative for men or women who were obese at one point in their lives and still have excessive fat deposits or loose skin in the abdominal area.

Ther is a plastic surgery clinic in Beverly Hills that says they charge the same prices as everyone else despite there location. so if your planning on getting a
tummy tuck in Los Angeles you may want to consider using there clinic. There Beverly Hills Tummy Tuck results in improved body contour and a smoother shape to the abdomen. They also make the incision just below the bikini or panty line to help hide the scar after surgery. I've seen people after they have had tummy tucks though and the scars seem to fade much faster than typical surgery scars. During your consultation at surgeon will examine you and discuss recommendations for the specific type of abdominoplasty to yield the best results.

You definitely should consider Rodeo Drive Plastic Surgery for your Los Angeles Tummy Tuck.

Investing

I've talked about investing on this blog a little bit. Not a lot. I usually don't have enough income coming in to even consider investing, but now for the first time in a long time its looking like something that might be possible in the not so distant future. I've sort of dabbled in it a little bit when I turned my PayPal account into a money market. I manage to earn 2.00 a month or more on the income that comes directly into my PayPal each month.

Keeping this in mind I briefly searched the internet looking for online for a stock trading site that would let me open up an account with the smallest amount. But to tell you the truth i don't really have a strategy when it comes to trading stocks. The only thing I could think to do was to buy stock in companies that I liked and thought might be going places. Companies like Home Depot, lol.

NetPicks Universal Market Trader Interactive Traing Course is something I may want to look into. It was released in in June and immediately sold out in 4 days. Active traders were empowered to succeed unlike anything they had experienced before. The best news is the UMT is coming back on the market for a limited time release -- the end of August. It will sell out again in a few days. It would be wise to grab a copy while one can be grabbed.
